Held annually, the Association of Animal Artists art competition offers members the opportunity to compete for a variety of animal themed awards. Open to both 2D and 3D works, the competition is judged by an external judge from an exhibition held during the association’s yearly programme.
The competition offers members an excellent PR opportunity, as well as the knowledge that the quality of their work is recognised. It also challenges members to step outside their comfort zones and develop as artists.
Details of the competition are announced yearly via e-mail including information about the themes and categories and how to enter. As a general guide, interested parties are invited to review the Association’s standard terms and conditions, available on this website.
Anne Corless, a founder member and Inaugural Chairman (from June 2009 to Oct 2013) of The Association of Animal Artists, presents the Inaugural Chairman’s Award to an AAA artist each year. The Award is also kindly sponsored by Dr Sally Bulgin, Publisher of The Artist and Leisure Painter Magazines and by Rosemary & Co Artists Brushes.
For the first time, we are also presenting a Sketchbook Prize, kindly sponsored by The Two Rivers Paper Company, who will present the winner with £100 worth of their beautiful papers and artists books, handmade by craftsmen in England using speciality fibres to archival standards.
The competition is open to members only.
